Isabel Schicketanz brings 17th and 18th century music to life. Her voice connects with historical texts, engaging audiences in both recitals and oratorio performances.

Music has shaped Isabel’s path since childhood. She studied under vocalists Hendrikje Wangemann and KS Olaf Bär in Dresden, developing her approach to baroque and classical works. Her recordings include complete works of Heinrich Schütz and Johann Kuhnau.

As founder of ensemble Ælbgut, Isabel explores new musical territory. The group has earned Opus Klassik and German Record Critics awards, performing at the Elbphilharmonie, MDR Music Summer, and Bach festivals in Leipzig and Stuttgart.

This season, Isabel takes on projects across Europe. She serves as resident artist at the Heinrich Schütz Music Festival, tours the St. Matthew Passion with Nederlandse Bachvereniging, and records newly discovered works by Johann Schop. Her schedule includes performances with the International Bach Academy Stuttgart for “Vision Bach” and the St. Matthew Passion at Freiburg Concert Hall.

Through CDs, radio broadcasts, and streaming performances, Isabel shares early music with listeners worldwide, bringing centuries-old compositions to present-day audiences.
